The Green Club students participated in the 26th Annual Sacramento Area Creeks Council "Creek Week".
The students braved the Saturday morning rainy weather, and picked up trash along Dry Creek. Then they participated in the celebration at Carmichael Park.

American River College hosted a Business and Computer Science High School Day for Twin Rivers Unified School District on Friday, April 8th. The focus was on "Building Connections for Success"!
The students were welcomed in a speech by the college's President, Thomas Greene.
The students were exposed to a college classroom, the expectations, and support services available for success in college.

The RLHS AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Program is accepting applications for the 2016-2017 academic year.
New Wednesday Schedule
Beginning with the 2015-2016 school year, all Twin Rivers students will start school at the same time every day and will be released two hours early every Wednesday. The change to Professional Learning Time (PLT) Early Release Wednesday (formerly Late Start Wednesday) will help the district achieve its goal of increasing student academic achievement.

Dear Rio Linda High School Families,
After six years of dedicated service as the principal of Rio Linda High School, Ed Delgado has accepted the position of principal at Creative Connections Arts Academy for the 2016-2017 school year. Please join me in wishing the best to Mr. Delgado during this transition.
As Executive Director of Secondary Education, I am committed to supporting the Rio Linda High School community as we seek to identify a new principal. Below you will find a timeline to ensure that we identify a qualified principal for RLHS.

Congratulations to both the Boys and Girls Basketball Teams for being 2016 TCC Champions!
The last time the Boys Team won a league championship was 2001. And the last time both Girls and Boys basketball won a league championship together was 32 years ago in 1984.
The Lady Knights are the 2016 CIF San-Joaquin Section, Division III Champions!
The girl's basketball team won Friday's playoff game against Christian Brothers by a score of 64-51. The leading scorers in the game were Brandy Huffhines with 17 points, Dejanet Porter with 10 points, Alexis Zimmerman with 10 points, and KeAri Morrison finished with a Double-Double,(10 points and 12 rebounds).. Congrats to the Entire Lady Knights Team!!
The Lady Knights played Pinole Valley in the Division III, 2016 CIF State Girls Basketball Championships. The final score was 52-38.

Women in Sports
RLHS female student-athletes attended the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Women in Sports Leadership Workshop on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
The students enjoyed a welcome speech from the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Commissioner, Michael Garrison. They also participated in sessions with representatives from CSU Sacramento and the University of the Pacific.

CSUS Jazz Festival
Congratulations to the students in NYN that performed at the CSUS Jazz Festival on December 12, 2015.
Talented RLHS students were selected to participate in the American River College High School Honor Band.
On Friday, December 4th the students performed with other talented high school musicians at the college. The RLHS students included: Robert Barajas, Sage Beamon, Tyler Morris, Kayla Stella, Anjelica Rivera Peterson, Jonathan Verdun Gonzalez, and Ethan Thao.

Civic Learning Showcase

Pacific Career and Technology High School has earned the distinction of a California Department of Education (CDE) 2016 Model Continuation High School.
“I’m excited for all the staff, who are doing everything possible to provide every opportunity for our students to be successful in every way,” says Site Administrator Shane Yang. “From teachers to custodians, office staff, and our campus safety specialist, who have a strong rapport will all students, motivating them to give their best every day and not give up.”
Pacific High is a continuation high school, meeting the needs of 120 students who are behind in graduation requirements and are at risk of not graduating. The school will retain its title of Model Continuation High School for three years and will be recognized at a state conference in May.
