THE RIO LINDA TRACK AND FIELD INVITATIONAL WILL BE HELD TUESDAY, April 15, 2014 at Rio Linda High School.  FIELD EVENTS AND RUNNING TRIALS WILL BEGIN AT 10:00am.  ALL SPIKES MUST BE ¼” MAXIMUM.  We will be using the FINISHLYNX system for timing. Three Levels – Varsity Boys, Girls, JV Boys

 

RUNNING EVENT TRIALS WILL BE HELD IN THE HURDLES (EXCEPT 300’S), 100m & 200m SPRINTS.  TWO HEATS OF ALL 800’S (FAST - SLOW) AND ONE HEAT IN ALL 1600’S AND 3200’S. 

     THE TOP NINE PLACES FOR RUNNING TRIAL EVENTS WILL BE DETERMINED BY HEAT WINNERS AND / OR BEST THE TIMES.  BEST TIMES WILL BE USED TO FILL IN NINE LANES IF LESS THAN 9 HEATS COMPETE. IF THERE IS MORE THAN 9 HEATS, BEST TIMES WILL RUN IN THE FINALS.  PLACES FOR THE NON-TRIAL RUNNING EVENTS WILL BE DETERMINED BY TIME. ALL SEEDING WILL BE DONE AT THE MEET.

 

     ATHLETES WILL BE PLACED IN LANES OR SEEDED AT THE CLERK OR THE STARTING LINE. THE MEET TEAM SCORING IS: 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 1

     MEDALS WILL BE AWARDED TO THE TOP 3 PLACES IN EACH EVENT. ATHLETES CAN PICK UP MEDALS WHEN RESULTS ARE ANNOUNCED. PLAQUES WILL BE AWARDED TO THE TOP TWO TEAMS IN EACH DIVISION.  AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO COACHES AT THE END OF THE MEET.  MAKE SURE ALL AWARDS ARE PICKED UP BEFORE LEAVING.  NO MEDALS WILL BE MAILED. 

     THE ENTRY FEE IS $195.00 PER SCHOOL OR $90.00 PER DIVISION.  ENTRY FEE IS DUE APRIL 8, 2014.  MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO RIO LINDA TRACK CLUB (SCHOOL OR DISTRICT CHECKS). If you would like a reduction in the entry by running a field event for all levels, please indicate your interest as to the event your coaches would like to run.  The event must be run by an adult who is knowledgeable in the rules and procedure of the event.

Meet Cost: $145.00 if you are running a field event for all levels. EVENT ___________________

Individual athlete entry fee – 7.00 – Must be accompanied by an adult or coach.

Contact Coach Fox if you are planning to send individuals.  Athletes will adhere to all rules pertaining to competition.  No club runners or ineligible athletes will be allowed.  Athletes are to compete at one level only.

ALL OFFICIALS WILL MEET AT THE CENTER OF THE FIELD AT 9:30AM.

THROWING & JUMPING EVENTS (EXCEPT HJ & PV) WILL HAVE TRIALS (3 ATTEMPTS) WITH FINALS OF THE TOP NINE (3 ATTEMPS) IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING.  BEST ATTEMPT WILL CARRY OVER TO THE FINALS. BECAUSE OF THE LENGTH OF FIELD EVENTS, WE WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE COACHES TO ADHERE TO THE ABOVE MINIMUM DISTANCES. (MINIMUM HEIGHT OR DISTANCE)

 ATHLETES NOT ACHIEVING THE MINIMUM DISTANCES WILL NOT BE MARKED OR MEASURED.
