RLHS 2011-2012 A-G Requirements
Advanced Education for High School Students
- Read the entire Advanced Education form, which includes guidelines indicating which courses are appropriate for Advanced Education students and which are excluded.
- Complete the Los Rios Community College application online (http://www.losrios.edu/lrc/lrc_app.php) indicating you are an Advanced Education student and not a new student (and not a continuing student if you have taken classes at ARC, SCC, CRC, or at Folsom before).
- Complete the online orientation for Advanced Education students (go to http://orientation.arc.losrios.edu and click on the button for Advanced Education students) and print out the completion page at the end of the orientation.
- Make a counseling appointment with the school you plan to attend well in advance of the start of classes or call for available drop-in time (ARC: 916-484-8572; SCC: 916-558-2204; CRC: 916-691-7316; Folsom: 916-608-6510). Bring the following items with you to that appointment:
- Completed Advanced Education form with course(s) filled in by your high school counselor/administrator and signed in the appropriate places by you, a parent/guardian, and your high school counselor/administrator
- Typed statement indicating why you wish to take classes and how you qualify for the course(es)
- Copy of your high school transcript
- Copy of the completion page from the online advanced education orientation
- List of classes you will be taking at your high school during the term you will be enrolled at ARC (not required for summer classes)
- Assessment results, if appropriate for the class(es) you wish to take
- Copy of private school affidavit, if you are home schooled
