There are 13 days of school left!   Congratulations to all the amazing seniors that received awards and scholars at last night’s awards ceremony.  If you attended last night’s Senior Awards- can you please come and sign in at the counseling office?  If you did not attend you can pick up your award in the counseling office E-10 in between classes and at lunch.

After a long season we had Five girls move on to the D2-D3 sectionals.

Alyssa Francis, Christy Lor, Destiney Mancilla, Nia Powell, and Yessenia Garcia

Great job girls!

Are you tired of singing alone in the shower? Do you like traveling the state, going to amusement parks, and winning trophies? Then Rio Linda's Award Winning Chamber Choir is the place for you! If you are interested in joining, come to auditions after school on Wednesday, May 20th!! You can also sign up for our non-auditioned Concert Choir, see Ms. Prax in A-1 for more details.

Attention Students!

Would you like to experience a different kind of Science class? Sign up for Rio Linda’s brand new Aquaponics course! You will get to plan, design, and build your own sustainable farming system that combines raising fish and plants. This course was just approved as a College Prep Life Science Lab class! Come get a sign up form from room J5 today!

Attention singers. Do you love to sing popular type songs? Come and join the new class that is being formed for next year. Jazz Choir. It will be the class that sings pop, jazz, latin, and other styles of music but no one on a mic. So if you were afraid to sing with 'nightwind or Rio NYN because of the "one on a mic" thing have no fears. This will be more of a choral setting. If you are interested come see Mr. Murray.

Our annual Pops Concert is tonight, Thursday, May 21st starting at 6pm. Our music students will be performing in the quad behind the "Castle". This is an outdoor concert and we encourage you to bring your lawn chairs or blankets. Our booster club will be selling hot dogs and ice cream. We will have SEVEN groups performing! The arts are alive and well at Rio Linda High School!

Bring it on!  Bring it on!  It is time to swim along!!  That’s right, that’s right, the Boy’s and Girl’s tennis teams are having their end of the year swim party for both teams on Thursday June 4th from 2:30-6:00 right here at the Rio Linda High School pool.  There will be music, pizza, and plenty of swimming for all players.   This event is at no cost for all tennis players who played for Rio Linda High.  For those non- player the cost is a $10.00 fee to get in.    Hold the date Thursday June 4th!!

An important message from the library; if you have an overdue library book, turn it in by Friday and you will not have to pay overdue fines.  Please return all books!

Music Students... You need to be signed up for AP Music Theory. You have the basics and will not only survive it, but you will excel in a class that has a proven college track record. Come see Mr. Murray about getting signed up.

Attention all students after next Friday, May 29th NO MORE CHARGES will be allowed in the cafeteria for meals, and no more checks will be accepted for payment.

Please make sure that you have enough on your account to cover you for the rest of the year and if you have charges on your account, clear them with Ms. Crystal in the cafeteria.
