I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Rio Linda High School for the 2020-21 school year. This is going to be another great year! Because this will be a much different year with distance learning we will all have to work together. Students with parents, parents, and students with teachers, and so on.
For assistance email using our website directory or call (916) 566-2725. In addition, our campus has been very active this summer with the focus of disinfecting our campus, repairs to the roof, and new scoreboards for our Aqua Program and the Stadium Program. We would also like to welcome 5 new teachers to our staff. Amanda Tufts (Science Dept), Nathan Shippy (English Dept), Natalie Oeslener (FFA Dept), Benjamin Ehrmann (Art), and Rosalind Badger (Counselor).
We look forward to seeing both our returning students as well as our new, incoming 9th-grade class! RLHS is expecting 1,800 students this year and we have a total staff of just under 150 individuals to support our students on a daily basis regardless if we are conducting distance learning or in-classroom learning. Our graduating class this past June consisted of over 345 students and we will have nearly 500 in-coming freshmen join our campus this fall. Among the many goals we have for our students, a key one is to ensure every student has a post-high school plan!
Customer service continues to be a high priority for those of us working at Rio Linda High School. Our students, parents, and community members are held in high regard by our staff and it is our mission to ensure we meet the needs of our community. First and foremost, our students deserve the very best we have to offer. This year we have a school counseling staff of five counselors and one college & career counselor. These individuals, along with our teaching staff, form the backbone of our college and career advising team.
On a closing note…Even though we will be starting the year off in distance learning mode we will make it work for our students. I along with our school’s administrative team are available to assist you in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to call or email us with questions or concerns. Our school website (www.rlhs.twinriversusd.org) has been updated and it contains a great deal of information including who the counseling staff is, how to contact them, and also includes a list of events, activities, and other valuable information.
