Welcome to Rio Linda High School

August 1st 2021

Welcome!

Dear parents, students, and community members;
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Rio Linda High School for the 2021-22 school year.  This is going to be another great year!   The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 17th 2021. Students and staff will be required to wear face masks on campus and during school activities, following the district guidelines. There will not be distance learning or cohorts assigned. Every student will have 6 periods per day and will come to school from Monday through Friday each week.
We look forward to seeing both our returning students as well as our new, incoming 9th grade class!  RLHS is expecting 1,700 students this year and we have a total staff of just under 150 individuals to support our students on a daily basis.  Our graduating class this past June consisted of 300 students and we will have nearly 500 incoming freshman join our campus this fall.  Among the many goals we have for our students a key one is to ensure every student has a post-high school plan.

At this time all parents and students should have access to their Aeries portal accounts.  The parent/guardian must complete the data confirmation before accessing other areas of the parent portal. This process is mandated for all TRUSD students and will take place of the student’s paper Emergency Cards and Acknowledgement Forms.  This process needs to be completed prior to matriculation (please see information on back.)  If you have issues with parent portal please see Ms. Leassears in the career center, E8, starting Aug 2 from 8AM – 2PM.

This year we have a school counseling staff of five counselors and one college & career counselor. These individuals, along with our teaching staff, form the backbone of our college and career advising team. Customer service continues to be a high priority for those of us working at Rio Linda High School.  Our students, parents and community members are held in high regard by our staff and it is our mission to ensure we meet the needs of our community.  I along with our school’s administrative team are available to assist you in any way possible.

For assistance, you can email our staff using our website directory or call (916) 566-2725.  Our school website (www.rlhs.twinriversusd.org) has been updated and it contains a great deal of information including who the counseling staff is, how to contact them and also includes a list of events, activities and other valuable information.

Sincerely,

Paul Orlando
